2/18/2024 0 Comments Golden dragon dim sumThe establishment is clean and spacious, the servers are attentive and terribly friendly. On Sunday, there is a dim sum lunch offering 20% off (as of this review, October 24, 2019). My order was really too much for one person but I couldn't help myself. I think I filled my own teacup only once, so attentive were the servers. Siu mai were perfect little drums of minced pork, water chestnut and ginger, perfect with a dip into soy and then sriracha. Har gow wrappers were perfectly steamed, not too sticky and a gorgeous translucent white, stuffed with shrimp. They were so light you could pull them apart with chopsticks. Every item was cooked to order - I was even advised to order the egg custard dun tat just after I sat down because it is put into the oven to bake as soon as the order comes in! The char siu bao were fluffy and light, stuffed with succulent, savoury BBQ pork and gravy. I ordered char siu bao, har gow, siu mai and dun tat. I went there for dim sum, a nostalgic meal that reminded me of the times when my dad was alive. It has now opened an impressive flagship restaurant in the newly established Asian food hall, Bang Bang Oriental. It is tucked away in the corner of a nondescript strip mall once inside, however,the taste delights never end. Golden Dragon founded its first branch in Chinatown, Soho over 20 years ago and is renowned for its dim sum and Peking duck. A former student of mine put me onto this hidden gem of a restaurant in Niagara Falls. Golden Dragon, OMG Pho, EZ Wok - Shorewood, Super China Buffet.
